I have a One Plus Nord N200 5G phone and am considering switching from Public Mobile to Freedom Mobile. Doing the IMIE check showed that the phone was compatible with the FM network, but with limitations. I took the phone into a Freedom Mobile (Ottawa area) store and the technician tried using it with a test SIM. Rather than showing 5G as the protocol, it showed "Roaming". This doesn't happen with Public Mobile. The phone has 5G bands n66 and n71 but not n78 and it supports VoLTE. I am wondering why the connection is shown as "Roaming". Is this something to do with the origin of the phone? Is it "regionized". Could someone explain why this is happening, as I obviously don't want to pay roaming charges for local calls. Thank you.
