Post food bloat advice
Hi everyone.
My golden decided to eat half a kg of dog food after she broke into the dog food container (it was locked) while we were at work.
My wife got home and called me straight away and was on the way to the vet 15 minutes later. The vet had her from 8pm to 9am and sent her home saying she’s all good and to feed her a little less that evening.
I have been reading into it and all I’ve seen makes me incredibly nervous. I’ve called around my local vets for the surgery but they all said wait 4 weeks no clue why.
My question is this. As it seems to be a minor case and was spotted and dealt with within a few hours what are her risks right now while we wait. Are there any limitations we should be putting on her other than the smaller meals no exercise for at least an hour before and after and slow feeder/drinker? She’s almost back to normal 2/3 days after getting back home but I don’t really know if there are things we should be doing to reduce the chances of it happening again in the time we are waiting?
