Is She?

I truly believe Ella Fitzgerald at some point, even with all the other great female singers of her time, was considered the greatest female vocalist of all time. Now, I know that doesn't make sense, it contradicts itself, and yes, Whitney Houston was a powerhouse vocally, but there was something truly remarkable w/ Ella. Her Scat skills were by far the best and how she was capable of hitting such periodical high notes right after singing a song in a lower tone. Remarkable singer either way... This is another concert that was televised in Sweden many Georgia blue moons ago! https://youtu.be/KtKLJBHPSIM?si=Kc2z8QdutdED1UYF

Musicians...

There is a lot of great music that gets posted on this site. The sounds, melodies, guitar playing and what I truly believe is one of the hardest things to come up with...lyrics. I hate to say this, but we all want to be heard and we don't take the time to really listen to someone else's art--music. You should be proud of what you guys n' gals create though because it's mind blowing to me. I would rather listen to the tunes on this site rather than what's on any radio station being dominated by multi millionaires. Be thankful, Be proud and take the time to listen and support. Amazing and gifted musicians on here.

What are...

Your Top 5 closing tracks of all time? You know, the ending track that not only sums up (sometimes) the entire album as a whole, but also got you to play it in its entirety again? I'm not going to list mine because it's not about me, it's about what you guys n' gal's enjoy(ed).

Personal Cd compilation of...

ABBA songs. Let's say you were assigned to make THE ultimate ABBA compilation and the record label states that you can only put 10 SONGS (c'mon people, truly ONLY 10!) on this cd, what are your choices? BUT the record label states that the first track has to be a BALLAD and the ending track has to be an UPTEMPO. They want to change things around a bit. So, what are your 10 SONGS that would go onto the new ABBA Greatest Hits Vol. 1 cd? ;o)

Just wanted...

to say that there are truly some amazing musicians out there. Especially on this site. I'm rather new, but have heard of Reddit here n' there. I purposely stopped listening to the Top 40 years ago due to the dominance from the record labels & radio stations. You guys and gals are doing an amazing job on your songs along w/ your songwriting which is a beast of its own. I've listened to quite a few now and I'm glad I did. It's actually refreshing. Don't forget that songwriting and creating music is a gift. Not everyone has that niche/talent. It's no different than someone who can build a home w/ their hands from ground on up. I will say this, it does sadden me that so many do not get heard. It truly does. I've always believed that the most talented musicians and songwriter's are actually never heard. They're in their bedrooms, basements, garages, in the back yard, on a balcony of their apartment creating some of the most memorable tunes that go unheard. But I also know it's part of reality. Keep up the great work. I wish all of us could be heard, but that's likely impossible unless you find sites like this or randomly look on streaming services once you get past those 'stand out' artists. Either way, glad I found this place. Are there individuals that create low key radio stations that only have (hate to call it this but...) unheard artists and they strictly play true underground music?

He's electric...

Does anyone miss albums that once explored more into the psychedelia such as Muddy Water's 'Electric Mud'?

Don't leave a wishbone on the counter...

Was walking past the kitchen counter and someone in the family was drying out a wishbone from that night's dinner. Always have your antenna's out because you might miss out on a song title or something that creates a song! What do you all think? Seems to be doing well on streaming services. https://youtu.be/_qq0FKRxp9o?si=wlfiFF_sHgnaaKR-

Is it truly ABBA's last sunset?

Both Benny & Bjorn claim that there will never be another ABBA album. We know they will never perform live again either, but does anyone here believe that ABBA's 'Voyage' album is to be the last time we will "hear" an ABBA song? Or does anyone believe that we might get another song at least? I certainly hope so...

I thought the Melancholy belonged to 'The Winner Takes It All'...but

...these are some rather dark lyrics for even ABBA! What do you all think?

verse

Long awaited darkness falls

Casting shadows on the walls

In the twilight how I am alone

Sitting near the fireplaces

Dying embers warm my face

In this peaceful solitude

All the outside world subdued

Everything comes back to me again

In the gloom

Like an angel passing through my room

Half awake and half in dreams

Seeing long forgotten scenes

So the present runs into the past

Now and then become entwined

Playing games within my mind

Like the embers as they die

Love was one prolonged goodbye

And it all comes back to me tonight

In the blue

Like an angel passing through my room

I close my eyes, and my twilight images go by

All too soon

Like an angel passing through my room

In this peaceful solitude

All the outside world subdude

Everything comes back to me again

In the blue

Like an angel passing through my room

I close my eyes, and my twilight images go by

All too soon

Like an angel passing through my room

What does the music scene need to get back on track? Less laptop created music and more of the days when there were visible live musicians backed the lead singer?
