I wonder if i have gone too much off topic (from aviation back to a tank), although all my videos are about military vehicles. Perhaps just out of luck?
When doing research for a video I published today about the Sherman M4A3E2 I learned that the nickname 'jumbo' was already in use during the war, as shown in this photo caption and after action report of the 735th Tank Battalion. I had always heard / read that it was a postwar nickname started in a magazine description of a 'jumbo tank' or even later by Tamiya. Just wanted to share this interesting snippet of history with any Sherman fans out there!
