My English bulldog (9 years old) has a blood albumin level that’s been fluctuating between 2.1 - 2.4 over the past few months. Should I be worried? I scheduled an ultrasound but want to know if it’s necessary.
He hasn’t shown any symptoms of something like PLE. No nausea or diarrhea, healthy appetite, and he’s acting the same as he always has. He’s currently on a high protein diet supplemented with omega 3. I should mention he’s also on Apoquel.
The ultrasound is gonna cost like $500 (plus a $200 appointment fee 😑) and I don’t want to spend my money and put him through that unless it’s absolutely necessary. The fact that’s it’s been fluctuating is what gives me pause - it hasn’t been a clear downward trend. Should I go through with it out of precaution?
