Man dies in a hole
Help me find this movie. I only remember a specific scene and nothing else bc i watched it as a kid with my mom. But anyways i think the scene is near the end of the movie but features two man (let’s call them A and B) and they’re looking for something on the ground like a trap door or hole of some sort. They finally find it and A says to B to go in and I don’t remember the specific reason A gave for not going into the hole himself but somehow he manages to convince B to go in. When B goes into the small L shaped hole, A closes the trapdoor/blocks the entrance so B can’t come out. B realises it too late and finally comes to the dreadful conclusion that he is going to die in that hole. The scene zooms out while we see B reciting a prayer. I also remember the scene takes place in the woods or like a barren forest. Im very unsure about this next detail but i feel like the guy who goes in the hole was a reverend of some sort bc i remember him in a full black outfit but again please take this with a grain of salt because im prolly misremembering. That’s all i remember but i remember it made me feel very uncomfortable and disturbed bc i am very claustrophobic and that is possibly the worst way to go out.
Edit : another detail that i can vaguely remember is both of them are looking for a script or paper of some sort which was to be found inside the hole. And i think B even finds the thing and in the midst of reading it he hears A closing the entrance, he rushes back and makes brief eye contact with A and maybe even pleads but with no use. In the end all he is left with is a light source (torch/lantern) and the thing (most likely a paper) he went down in the hole for. It is then when he recites the prayer and the camera pans out showing him desperately hoping for a miracle.
