Horror film regarding ‘fairies’ that come out of fireplace at night in basement.

It was like a horror film where little nasty creatures come out of a fireplace in basement at night…. And for some reason theyre refered to as ‘fairies’ despite being knife wielding and disgusting, they listen through vents and have clouded white eyes and try to drag people down the fireplace.

Wizer of Oz kinda

I watched this movie as a kid at my uncle’s funeral, I think maybe it was a very loose surreal even stranger wizard of oz. I remember a scene where they were at a ballet show but the male ballerinas had enlarged parts that the other ballerinas jumped from. There was also a scene where they were in a pizza restaurant but the cheese on the pizza stretched across table to table and they had to step over it to get anywhere. At the end I think one of them tapped their shoes to go home. Anyone know?

Kids film with a polar bear as a main character

I think that it was about him saving the arctic or something, and I remember a scene of him being in the city in a apartment a few floors up in the building he's in.

Long shot

Hi. I'm desperate to find this horror movie I saw as a kid. I'm 41 now. All I remember is that it had these small demonic creatures. It's not any of the 'puppet master' movies or 'The Gate' although the creatures were around the same size. I can't remember any of the plot. It must have been made late eighties/early nineties. I wish I could remember more. Let's see what you can do.

Western involving train robbery and gang hide out

Hi, I'm looking for the title of a western. I can't name any of the actors, but I can summarize the plot pretty well. A clean-shaven man arrives at a train station carrying money intended as an advance year’s salary for a schoolteacher. Law enforcement officers at the station seem to recognize him, and he appears nervous and uncomfortable, especially around the train, as if he is not used to traveling by rail.

On the train he meets:

  • a middle-aged trickster/gambler/card-cheater type character, slightly comic but sympathetic,
  • and a woman (“the dame”), whom the trickster already seems to know.

Something happens during or after a robbery, and the three of them end up falling or being forced off the train together. The trickster injures his leg and limps afterward.

The three walk along the railway tracks through green countryside until they find an old shack. The hero recognizes it as the former hideout of an outlaw gang from his past. The gang is there again.

The gang leader is an older, rough, tramp-like man who apparently raised the hero from childhood and still treats him as if he belongs to the gang. The gang leader believes the hero has returned to rejoin them.

Inside the gang hideout there is a disturbing scene where the woman is forced to strip while gang members hold a knife to the hero’s throat. The trickster companion is treated badly by the gang members.

The gang is planning a major robbery — “the big one” — involving a bank in a town up in the hills. The gang leader sends the hero along with two gang members to scout the town ahead of the robbery.

As they travel, the landscape becomes much drier, rocky, and barren. When they arrive, they discover the town is mostly abandoned. The bank is not functioning normally and the only apparent inhabitants are a Mexican couple.

While the men are away or distracted, one of the gang members kills the Mexican woman. When her husband returns and discovers her dead, violence erupts into a shootout.

During this shootout:

  • the hero turns against the gang members,
  • and at one point hides underneath the floorboards/veranda of a building and shoots upward through the floor to kill one of them.

The remaining gang members later arrive in town and are killed as the conflict escalates.

Finally, the hero rides back to confront the old gang leader in the hills. When he arrives, the gang leader is assaulting or attempting to rape the woman from earlier. The hero fights him and ultimately wins.

gay guy dates a republican

FOUND: The Trip (2002)

Hi! I'm looking for a movie about a guy who starts dating a closeted guy. I actually have a couple quotes in facebook posts from some years ago, but I can't seem to find the movie:

"How did last night go, huh?"
"It was a disaster"
"Why, is he a bottom too?"
"Worse."
"Why, is he straight?"
"Yeah, but even worse."
"What can be worse than being straight?!"
"He's a republican."

"Since when did you become a writer?"
"It's always been my dream since I was a child, since when do you know you're a homosexual?"
"Uh... It's always been my dream since I was a child."

Help me find this movie my wife wants to rewatch

A man's friend (work colleague) at the last minute gets him to change his mind to go on a work trip with him and he goes on a coach with all the other work people and when they get there there's like a building and it's not good inside. All weird stuff happens and he wishes he never went. She said it was like the guy who arranged the trip knew what was going to happen.

That's all my wife could give me. She has a strong feeling that someone like Haley Joel Osment was in it, but she hasn't been able to work it out. I tried some searches on this, but none of the results that came back matched. She says it was an American film, but not particularly high budget.

Edit: Thanks to u/nonsense_potter who suggested Rebirth, this is the film she was thinking of!

Movies I saw from the mid to late 90's?

I've been holding on to these memories for the better part of 30+ years, only until recently did they pop back into my head after being long forgotten. These are movies that I saw when I was a child of 8 or 10 during late-night broadcasts and cable tv and I remember certain scenes and maybe the subreddit can help me Identify them so I can finally watch them and put them to rest.

  1. Bleeding guy and lady

The scene involved and man or maybe a teenager standing behind a lady bleeding from the mouth, she turns around and the scene happens. I think it may have been a war movie of some kind or a cash-in of a Red Dawn type movie. I also remember something of an over head shot at a fortress barricade with various characters milling about

  1. Ol "Henry" the train and two guys

This one may or may not related to the one above. Two guys are at the side train track at night when the scene plays out. Iirc they attempted to get on the train but I think the buddy never makes it on.

  1. Guy with golden gun

This one I remember a bit more clearly and had actually seen the end but never got the name or most of the plot. The protagonist is laying on a crude operating table in some dilapidated building with a bandaged head but also some sort of large device with an antennae pointed at his head. The scientist says his dialogue and I think another scene plays out then the protag wakes up in some apartment somewhere with the gold gun. I think a spy moonlighting as a prostitute makes contact with him in same apartment or it may have been a hotel or bathhouse, I remember the light being a soft green inside. The ending of the movie involved the protag and lady spy leaving on a train going somewhere with the lady saying "I'm looking forward to becoming an American" . The gun was weird and it was really thick with a small magazine that was positioned in front of the trigger, I dont remember anything special about it other than the design and color, I don't think it even packed much of a punch.

  1. Family outing ends in death and separation. (Sorry, no crappy drawing)

This one has been bothering me the most as I vaguely remember what happens or why. I think the movie starts with a family of three going to some snow covered field somewhere, the mother and father are watching there son play with a small sled. There is a forest nearby which emerge armed soldier in black, they start yelling at the couple in a language I don't remember if it was English or not. They shoot the father dead, and take the woman to some military base in which she is then put on a bus which takes her somewhere. The child is left behind with the father's body. During the bus ride I can see building and maybe a forest in the background behind the woman. she's also thinking about her child back in the field.

Movie about gigantic aliens

I want to find a movie I watched on TV a long time ago as a kid
There were aliens, roughly the size of the ones from War of the Worlds, but they didn't seem aggressive
Maybe humanity was scared of them and tried to attack them?
Then it turned out that aliens have different genders, and one alien creature began interacting with another, and it seemed like those ones were of different genders and were in love
Also those aliens remind me of strider creatures from video game TES Morrowind

Sorry for the very vague description and thanks in advance!

Fungus/mould in basement horror film

I’ve been trying to remember this movie for years and it’s driving me insane. I watched it on TV a long time ago, probably sometime in the 2000s, but I think the movie itself was either late 90s or early 00s. It might be a straight to vhs or dvd movie.

What I remember:
-The main characters are a husband and wife, and I’m pretty sure they’re both scientists or researchers. They also work with a small research team. There is a lab as well. They might be working for a pharmaceutical company.
-They either move into a new house or are already living in one where they discover some kind of strange mould/fungus/slime growth. I strongly remember it being connected to the basement, and I think it slowly spreads through the house. The woman even has some nightmares or hallucinations about it at one point.
-Once they find the mould they start experimenting with it in the lab. At first the fungus seems beneficial, it makes people feel energized, hyper-focused, maybe euphoric or mentally sharper.
-Now this part gets blurry. I think that the husband starts using it and then he increases the dose, and maybe other researchers do too. Eventually it turns out to be toxic/poisonous and he dies from it (or mutates before dying? not fully sure).
-The whole movie had a very strong haunted house atmosphere: dark interiors, damp walls, creeping dread, isolation. But I don’t think there were actual ghosts or supernatural hauntings. The horror came more from the organism itself and the atmosphere. It wasn’t a grand mansion or big old house either, if I remember correctly.
-It was not a fast-paced action horror movie from what I remember, it only picks up pace towards the end when the guy dies.

Does this ring a bell for anyone? I’m starting to feel like I had some mould myself because this is like a fever dream, yet some images I feel like I remember vividly.

A teenage couple swim in a lake in the middle of a forest

So i watched this scene on youtube, it is about teenage couple, went to a forest, found a lake and decide to swim, because it was not planned they swim with underwear, there was a big rock, the boy jump from there, the girl was afraid to jump, the boy forced her to jump, she jumped but end up unconsciois, few moments later she woke up,

both are white but the girl has dark hair

its probably a romance movie, the vibe is cold, they barely talk, serious, and no joke,

the movie probably come out around 2015-2025,

Anyone know where this scene come from ?

I really liked this alien/robot movie when I was a kid

Please help me find it! If I remember correctly, there was a group of teenagers that found a strange object that turned out to be a robot from another planet? The thing was really small. The aliens then returned in order to take the robot back. For some reason I also associate this robot with an owl, maybe it looked like an owl? Not sure.. I can’t seem to find it and it feels like I’m just imagining stuff at this point lol

Need Help finding the movie I saw a trailer for

I don't know how long ago but lets say 2014 to 2017 roughly I think maybe earlier but I went to a friends place and I saw this 1 movie trailer that I wanted to watch the movie for.

I vaguely remember it but from the parts of the trailer I remember it was on Earth with this BIG human made alien cannon on the land, and the trailer cuts to a warehouse filled to the brim with cages all full of Xenomorph like creature from Alien. Mean while the voice over was saying that humans made it this far with Technology because of them, cuts back to the warehouse and all the Aliens start to go crazy in there cells and the humans are like "What's Going On???" and I Think???? the voice over goes it the mother ship its coming!!!!!

That's the movie trailer I remember. I've been trying to find this movie with no luck.
What I know it Isn't.

  • District 9: Saw the trailer and it doesn't watch up to what I remember
  • Alien Earth: Too recent

This one is driving me absolutely insane!!

Trying to find a movie that came up in conversation but had no luck on Google and other platforms.

Can’t remember if it’s a female or male but they have some sort of curse and their hand stands to slowly turn tank and old and mouldy so they start wearing gloves to cover it (only on the one hand)

And then in one scene the glove comes off in a commotion and people see the hand and they’re like wtf

I know it’s not a lot to go off but it’s bugging me I can’t even remember if it’s in a series but I’m pretty sure it’s a movie!!!

Hand kinda resembles this

[TOMT] I’ve been searching for this (I think) horror movie for years, and no one nor no search knows it.

All I remember from this movie is the beginning, or what I think is the beginning. It starts out with a boy running from someone or something through the woods. He’s clearly scared trying to get away from whatever this is, but I’m pretty sure he’s running from another boy. Eventually, they get to a peak or dead end, and the boy that’s running gets pushed and either dies from the fall or from the person chasing him. After the boy is dead, whoever is chasing him steals a locket from him. That’s genuinely all I remember, please help!

Need help figuring out a movie

The movie starts with a husband and a wife at a beach house. I believe the husband upsets the wife and she tries to swim out to the middle of the ocean and frown. A boy walking on the beach goes out there and saves her and they begin an affair shortly after. I believe it is a European film but could be wrong on that. Thanks
