9800X3D throwing red VGA light on TWO different motherboards. Even barebones without a GPU. Is my CPU dead?
Hello, I am getting a permanent solid red VGA debug light and absolutely zero display signal.
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D
Motherboard: Gigabyte B850M Aorus Elite Ice (Brand new today)
GPU: Sapphire Radeon RX 9070 XT
RAM: DDR5 Kit
SSD: Silicon Power Gen 4 NVMe (in Gen 5 slot)
PSU: be quiet! 850W Modular
Cooler: Thermalright Peerless Assassin
Case: Lian Li A3
CPU and DRAM lights clear fine, but it halts on a solid red VGA light. Monitor says "No Signal" and goes back to sleep. I originally thought my old motherboard died, so I drove to Micro Center and bought the B850M Ice today. Built it back up, and I am getting the exact same VGA error on the new board. Idk what to do anymore...
Steps already taken:
RAM: Tested one stick at a time in Slot 2. Let it memory train for 15+ minutes. Still VGA light.
iGPU Test: I completely removed the GPU from the case. Ran a single stick of RAM in Slot 2. Plugged a DisplayPort cable directly into the motherboard to test the integrated graphics and It STILL throws a solid red VGA light.
I've also tried hdmi cable...
