I love horror stories with their metaphors and shit

I love horror medias that are not just frightening but also have depth. Specially when it's about monsters or scary creatures and when those said entities are not only being used to drive the plot forward but are also placeholders to represent or symbolize ideas, abstract concepts, or theme. One common example is the original Godzilla, while the Godzilla, the monster, is very real in the story, the universal interpreation is that the creature represents the destructive power of a nuclear weapon. A quick look at a history Japan (where this film is made) supports this interpretation even further.

The first image is from silent hill, a franchise known for using it's horror elements as symbolisms and to add more depth to its characters.

The second one is from the movie The Ritual. The creature shown is a manifestation (not literally) of the main's character guilt

The Smile creature from Smile is the character's trauma.

I didnt catch it nor care when I watched Alien as a kid but the xenomorphs as a metophor for the loss of body autonomy makes alot of sense.

I love it when stories do this.

Also makes me feel smart when I caught on to it.

Themes and such

Do some unironically scale real, non-fictional people as if they're written as characters?

Genuine question

Protagonists who's tragedies and conflicts are brought upon by their own life choices or protagonists who relentlessly pursue their goals even through morally questionable actions?

Which is generally executed better and which is more entertaining to read/watch in your opinion?
