First-Time Buyer — Need Help QC’ing P9 30 Indigo / Possible HH vs Royal Factory Mix-Up
Hi everyone! First-time buyer here and I’d really appreciate some additional opinions from those familiar with the LV P9 and these factories.
Bag: LV P9 Speedy 30 Indigo
Seller: Betty (6882)
Factory ordered: Royal Factory
I initially ordered this P9 30 Indigo from HH Factory and paid on 8/7. After doing more research, I decided I wanted the higher-quality version, so I asked Betty to switch my order to Royal Factory.
I paid the additional amount for Royal on 8/12 and received my PSPs on 8/13.
After comparing my PSPs with the Royal factory photos, I’m concerned that the PSP bag may actually be the HH bag from my original order rather than the Royal version I paid for.
Here are the differences that are making me question it:
• Hardware color/finish: This is the biggest thing that stood out to me. The PSP hardware looks quite bright and yellow/shiny, while Royal’s factory photos appear to show a more muted, deeper brass/antique-gold tone.
• Leather appearance: The leather in the Royal photos looks richer and more supple to me, with that soft, slightly luxurious/wrinkled look I associate with the P9. My PSP leather appears a little smoother/stiffer in comparison.
• Overall slouch/structure: Royal’s bag seems to have a softer, more relaxed structure and natural slouch. The PSP bag looks somewhat more structured/upright, although I realize stuffing and how the bag is positioned can affect this.
• Monogram embossing: The embossed monogram on the Royal factory bag appears a little softer and more naturally integrated into the leather. On my PSP bag, the embossing seems slightly more pronounced/crisp in certain areas.
• Handles/leather trim: The handles and trim on Royal appear softer and more refined to me. The PSP handles look a little firmer and the finishing seems slightly different.
• Overall finish: When I look at the bags side by side, the Royal factory photos have a softer, richer and more understated appearance overall, while the PSP bag seems a bit brighter and more rigid.
I completely understand that lighting, camera settings, stuffing and angles can cause some of these differences, so I don’t want to accuse the seller of a factory switch based on photos alone. However, considering I originally had an HH order in place and then switched to Royal immediately before receiving these PSPs, I want to be certain I’m actually receiving the factory/version I paid for.
For those who have experience with Royal and HH P9s, does this PSP actually look like a Royal Factory P9 to you, or does it look more consistent with HH?
Also, would you GL or RL based on the PSPs?
I’ll attach the PSPs first and Royal factory photos afterward so you can compare them.
