Any good websites or statistics showing homeschoolers fall behind their peers?
Are there any solid statistics showing that homeschoolers fall behind compared to their peers?
My oldest two are approaching the age to attend high school and I’m worried my wife homeschooling them is going to hold them back and possibly ruin future opportunities. I’m pro sending them to high school but she‘s highly against it. She initially convinced me to homeschool because she presented me with numerous articles claiming homeschooled children do substantially better than their peers. I’m worried this might just be biased information.
Secondary question if anyone wants to answer.
I‘m also curious if the situation I’m about to describe is familiar among some of you and I’m curious how it held you back?
What initially triggered my concern was when I had to the opportunity to take about a month off from work. What I witnessed concerned me. It appears as if there’s no structure and majority of their curriculum is self taught. It often seems like they finish their work extremely fast and the learning environment seems very chaotic. My daughter told me their work often is not graded because my wife spends too much time chasing around the youngest. So if anyone would like to add their experience I’d greatly appreciate it.
