69 yr old active F.
Shoulder pain for about a year. Had two steroid shots - June and October 2025. Helped for a short while. I’ve been doing Pt and light weights at gym. Not in much pain/restricted mobility. Surgeon says only option would be reversed replacement but that I may not need it if able to function. Surgeon, sports medicine doc and I decided I’d try PRP.
I had first one yesterday (I do know that I’m not a lizard and I can’t regrow the rotator cuff whole)
ANYONE ELSE HAS TRIED PRP?
Here’s my most recent (dominant side) shoulder MRI (done a few days after sports injury 1/31/26 & compared to last year MRI done when pain started)
Thank you
“NARRATIVE:
Progressed large to massive rotator cuff tendon tear with full-thickness, near full width tearing of the
supraspinatus tendon and full-thickness full width tearing of the infraspinatus tendon with failure at
their respective footprints and tendon stump fibers at the level of the glenohumeral joint line. A few
anterior fibers of the supraspinatus tendon remain intact. Subscapularis tendinosis with moderate grade articular sided and intrasubstance partial-thickness tearing at and near the footprint
Similar moderate atrophy of the upper portion of the infraspinatus muscle
Mild superimposed intramuscular edema within the supraspinatus and infraspinatus muscles which
may be due to denervation. Remaining rotator cuff muscles are relatively preserved.
The intra-articular portion of the long head biceps tendon is not well evaluated. Redemonstration of
tendinosis of the long head biceps tendon.
Redemonstration of degeneration of the superior labrum. No gross displaced labral tear. Articular
cartilage is not well evaluated. Mild-to. moderate chondral thinning within the glenohumeral joint.
Small effusion of the glenohumeral joint communicating with the subacromial/subdeltoid bursa via the full-thickness rotator cuff tendon tear.
Superior migration of the humeral head with narrowing of the acromiohumeral interval which measures as little as 4-5 mm.
No evidence of acute fracture.
Moderate acromioclavicular joint osteoarthrosis.
Redemonstration of a small subacromial enthesophyte.”
Many of you likely have heard of the Dogist on Instagram among other places, especially in New York City, where he goes around taking pictures of dogs. He just posted on Instagram that they are organizing an all breed dog walk on May 17 in Central Park. See screenshots from his ig post and/or follow him @thedogist
P. S. Not any form of an endorsement, I follow him for years because I like his work, but I’ve never met him and I don’t know him
I throw in a picture of our shit too, even though we are in a different state and we will not be there
