Genuine question for those who do it and those who don’t.

Why are people selling stuff on eBay way above the retailer price? There is shipping and tax included, which makes it $30 extra on top of the extreme price. I just don’t understand. Do you really think you’re gonna sell that? Or are you just hoping that in a couple years you’ll make that 150 that you want so bad?
I’ve been looking for certain things like the one piece Luffy shoes, for example, and it’s just crazy to me that there are certain shoes that I can find on cheaper websites and then I go on eBay and they’re selling them for so much. Like it almost makes me want to tell people the person that’s selling. That is way overpriced. You can find it for cheaper somewhere else.
I just don’t understand like I thought eBay was a great place to get rid of things that you have and also sell things but my God it’s like another StockX app or like fricking so overpriced and the tax and oh my God I just don’t understand. What happened to eBay?
