How to heat this winter? Help a first time homeowner!

Bought a 1900 cabin/home on an acre in Washington and closed in June. The home had a wood heater under the old owner (who died) and the estate removed the wood stove prior to sale. When getting home insurance quotes having a wood stove tripled the annual cost.

Neighbors say to expect multiple power outages a year so now I need another way to heat my home for those instances. I am in septic and well and will have a jackery/generator for the well and lights but I don’t have a big enough generator atm to handle space heaters.

So would you buy a bigger generator or install a Rinnai (or similar) propane heater? I can’t afford to do both.

Why so many shades of ‘wood’

I mean know WHY and I absolutely love it. But now I’m building out the kitchen and trying to fine a shade for the butcher block counter top. Suggestions? I would like to go with a good grade finish and was thinking tung oil in birch but….idk.

The last pics (with the stove and the green topped island bar) are the original listing pics

Also you will see a pic where one of the beams between the kitchen and living room has ‘legs’. A structural engineer signed off on the fix so I need to incorporate then into the fix/design.

The green counter with the sink will be being replaced eventually to match what I’m putting in.

Going to paint all the cabinets a sage-ish green.

No other option

As the title says we have no option other than to be successful.

-handle data for big clients
-PII not PHI (Heathcare adjacent)
-less than 20 employees
-audit scheduled to start 8/1
-SOC2 Type 2
-no previous SOC2Type 1
-vanta with no paid audit prep
-Security only
-a lot of turmoil in the past 6 months including ownership change and firing of employees that were previously responsible for SOC2
-just launched new customer software for internal use

Where do I even start?
We have actively put controls in place and been documenting those changes, but there are no SOPs, the policies are out of date, the handbook is even atrocious.

Is the evidence I’m collecting only for the audit period (3 months) or is it from before too?
