MC has a project to connect people, but is encouraged by someone older and more experienced to continues to connect MORE people. This leads to some tension former collaborators.

All the tension with her collaborators is reconciled in the end.

A thousand years gets tossed around but in the original film it seems like it shouldn't have been more than 100 years ago

We've hit the singularity. You can plug yourself into the hedonia matrix and experience any fantasy you like or just experience a perfectly calibrated feeling of euphoria. AI is so good humans can no longer meaningfully contribute to research or the economy. Is this a good thing?

After an intimate relationship with another woman a man realizes he loves his wife and brings the whole town together to win her back!

Hints

It wouldn't have been great if he had one kid with the other woman, but he had a bunch and that causes some concern.

In the end he (almost) wins over the small town sheriff who might have been interested in his wife to his cause

He has a bit of a tete a tete with a teen girl, who then talks to his estranged wife about his feelings.

In the end he's really hot for her, but she still leaves.

He has a spat with his wife near the start of the movie about how he's not taking care of himself and she's worried about some changes in him

Not a big commercial hit, but I feel like its a very "Reddit" movie (/cult classic) and I've seen people guess it a lot elsewhere so I know y'all are out there.

A young girl tries to leave an older, controlling man after she discovers he's passed her an, ahem, "social" disease.

Hints!

The guy pulls her into some light fraud (there was no mens rhea!)

the guy is well known in his community for his tantrums where he smashes stuff but she totally sees another side of him.

In case it wasn't obvious, the relationship is non sexual

It's a sequel, we saw the start of their relationship in the first movie, and after some hiccups they are back to being friends in this one.

Should we change Congressional (and perhaps executive and judicial) pay?

Mike Johnson has been catching a lot of flack for saying that the $172K pay package is too small and so congress relies on trading to make money. While it's true that 172K is more than double the median US salary, it is quite small for positions that seem relatively in line with a representatives responsibilities and general qualifications.

Given concerns about insider trading and ethics, would you be interested in giving congress a significant pay raise in exchange for stricter ethics and oversight regulations (for example, forcing blind trusts and/or restricting investments in publicly traded stocks to US focused index funds)?

I'm also curious about feelings about applying this logic to the Supreme Court and executive which have had their own ethics issues of late.

Main character tries to hide the fact that they recently transitioned into being a woman from their love interests, but the love interest's father figures it out and is creepily into it.

Hint space

Before she meets her love interest and his dad she's on kind of a road trip where she falls in with a raggedy crew.

There's a memorable scene with a distant relation of the main character super creepy.

Don't think it's discussed as much in the movie as in the book, but here a woman gets to go out with a younger guy who is really much older than he seems.

The internet has made me think too much about it, so now I have to ask: What do you think of Christopher Nolan's upcoming adaptation of The Odyssey?

No, it's not out yet, but that hasn't stopped the opinions so I might as well see yours!
