If an ME has a preference of working in NYC or Boston, is there a particular specialty/focus that would yield better results in a job search?

Freshman here.I’m browsing RPI’s club directory. I checked out the Science Fiction and Anime club but the only link is taking me to a facebook (!) page where the posts are from several years ago. When I click other clubs, the data is old or if there’s a discord server it’s hard to see if/when clubs meet. Can anyone suggest regular meeting clubs for someone into anime, Minecraft, aerospace, and/ or building things? Or other clubs that are interesting and provide social opportunities?
