Need advice with moving my 1 years worth of CS Pension

Hello! I worked as a placement student in the Civil Service for 1 year and paid into the CS Pension, but I'm not allowed to keep the money in it since you need to have paid into it for at least 2 years to do so. As such my options are either transferring it to a new workplace or personal pension scheme, or refunding my personal contributions. I'm keen to keep the whole sum so I was wondering if anyone had any experience in transferring to a personal pension, and if so had any recommendations about which one to go for? I won't be in a position to move it to a workplace pension for some time, so it looks like personal is the only way to go if I want to keep the whole amount.

I've got to move my small workplace pension soon but I need help deciding where to move it

Hi, I'm a student and worked for the Civil Service for a year as part of a placement scheme, so I've got 1 year's worth of pension contributions to the Civil Service Pension worth about £5000.

Since I wasn't in the scheme for 2+ years, I have to either move the money into a new workplace pension or a personal pension/SIPP or refund my personal contributions, which is about £1000. This all needs to be done soon, and I'm not in a position to get a job with a new pension scheme before I'm out of time.

I'd prefer to transfer the whole sum, but I haven't a clue which personal pensions are best recommended. I'd prefer something that doesn't require a lot of micromanagement if possible, but since I'm not an expert I can't be too picky.

Any advice or directions to where to get it is greatly appreciated!
