Weber compact vs master touch

I’m looking for some advice for a beginner’s BBQ. I love cooking but I’ve never operated a BBQ beyond throwing some bacon on a disposable.

I’ve been lurking here for a while and seen all the Weber kettle hype, so went to pull the trigger but I’m now not sure if I should be going for the compact at £120 or stretching to a £230 master touch. I will probably try some smoking eventually, but my immediate interest is just basic grilling so I can host some friends for the World Cup.

I’d appreciate any advice or justification of the master touch’s extra cost. Money *is* a factor as I’ve just bought my first home. TIA

Logitech Driving Force GT(?) in charity shop

I’ve just found this in my local charity shop, £25 as a set with the pedals. This appears to be a good deal against others online, although it’s missing the power supply for force feedback

Could anyone advise on if this will still be suitable as a complete beginner just playing GT games & arcade racers on the PS2 for now - I believe this was originally for the PS3 but is backwards compatible? TIA
