A couple functional prints for my new motorcycle
I recently got a new motorcycle and I designed a couple items for it.
The first is a simple action camera mount for the GPS bracket mounting points. The display tower is in the way for my normal handlebar mount to work but this turned out to be a perfect solution.
The second is a part for my EDC toolkit that I bring when I ride offroad. On a motorcycle you need to be able to take off your wheels in case of a puncture and for my rear I have a 24 mm spanner that has a tyre spoon at the other end. For the front however I needed a 12 mm hex and the best I could find was a 1/2" bit socket and a 1/2" to 17 mm adapter that I was planning on using a small adjustable spanner to turn. Not a great solution, but carrying a 17 mm spanner or a 1/2" tool adds a lot of bulk and weight.
Then I came across this, which would have been perfect if it wasn't 3/8" but it gave me an idea. A couple minutes later I was printing my own 17 mm hex to 24 mm adapter. I'll be printing it in nylon later so hopefully it'll be strong enough to actually work, but if not I still have my spanner as a backup :p
