Knitted graduation accessories!

I knitted a cap cover and a jabot to match the dress I made myself for my graduation!

The cap cover is a handspun 2-ply Polwarth (approx. 2/34) knitted on 2mm needles, with a slightly denser variation of a pattern from Carol Christiansen's Shetland Fine Lace Knitting. I originally wanted to do a proper Shetland construction, with a center surrounded by mitered borders, but I was in a time crunch and I didn't want to put too much effort into something I'd wear once. As I did two repeats of the lace pattern, I made a small horizontal buttonhole on the last row of repeat 1 to accommodate the tassel. After blocking, I whipstitched it down to the cap around the edges and ran a thread around the buttonhole to make sure the cap didn't show around the tassel knob.

The jabot is a 2/52 cash-silk-merino that I grabbed the last bit of on Colourmart, knitted on 1.2mm needles (I knit loosely). Various motifs I liked from Heirloom Knitting and Shetland Fine Lace Knitting, united by a birds-eye pattern. I put together a border for this and didn't end up using it since I liked the length I had after finishing the centre, but I have enough yarn to make another one with my border design and an edging all the way around.

Now onto the sweater I've wanted to make for ages (and looking forward to packing it for grad school!!!)
