Aside from updating Sfall and changing ini settings to my preference, is there anything I should do to improve my experience? I don't mind if it's a little janky or lacking some QoL features, just wanna know if I'm missing anything important before I jump in.
Spoilers for Fallout 2 below if there's stuff you still haven't done in the game.
Just finished my "canon" run of Fallout 1 and now I want to attempt something similar with a Fallout 2 run, where I try to make sure all the events that are confirmed to be canon happen in one playthrough. Yes, I realize this is insane, you don't have to tell me.
Aside from obvious ones like>!taking the oil tanker to reach the oil rig and taking down Horrigan!<, what are some that might be easy to overlook?
Here's what I've found so far through a bit of research, though a few of these I'm not entirely sure about.

Edit: (*SOLVED*) It was just a setting in the fo1_settings.ini file. I'm goofy.
Just got under the Cathedral on my playthrough and I'm realizing none of the Children are dropping their purple robes. I've tried Lasher, the shopkeeper, Morpheus and the guy who opens the hidden door leading to the vault. None of them were carrying it.
I'm playing Et Tu so I guess that could be something that's been changed about the game, but I don't remember that being the case the last few times I played Et Tu. I went through the ddraw.ini and changed a lot of settings but I don't recall seeing any settings that should affect this.
Has anyone encountered this before and happen to have a solution? I realize the chances are slim but I'm a little desperate since the last place I was that had one was the Followers' base, and that's hours worth of save files back.
I wanna do a playthrough that follows the events of the first game as close to the canon story as possible. Are there any resources I should reference outside of the Vault Dweller's memoirs in the Fallout 2 manual, or any relevant pieces of information that can't be found there?
Right now I'm struggling with the name. Albert makes the most sense, it just doesn't feel right, I guess. I suppose it doesn't really matter though, since I don't think any of the game's protagonists are ever referred to by a name in any canon resources. I'd just do "Vault Dweller" but unfortunately that would break a lot of the dialogue.
