Pericoronitis
Just been the to the dentist as my left upper wisdom tooth has partially ruptured and made me have slight lock jaw and facial swelling. Got diagnosed with Pericoronitis, dentist said it looked red and inflamed and got prescribed metronidazole antibiotics.
I’m scared to take the antibiotics, I have a super sensitive stomach and a phobia of sick so I’m worried that the medication will make me sick.
My problems started on Wednesday, it’s not Friday and I can open my jaw a lot more today. Been doing salt water gargles and normal teeth brushing and mouth wash.
My question is can I hold of on the antibiotics and see if I calms down itself (I believe it’s my second time having it, first time my jaw locked up, but I don’t think my face swelled. It calmed down itself last time) or should I just rip off the bandaid and take the medicine?
