Plant based with nickel allergy- is it even possible?
So I have a systemic allergy to nickel. If I eat high nickel food- nuts, tofu - soy of any kind, beans, lentils, chocolate, nuts, seeds or grains - gluten or gluten free options and many fruits in within hours to days, I will have a horrible flair of eczema on my feet, ankles and hands that has persisted for almost a year.
Have any of you out there been able to continue plant based after they got their systemic nickel allergy under control? I have had to keep my nickel intake as low as possible and taking vitamin c with meals to help block the up take of nickel is horrible for my GERD.
I loved making all the yummy recipes the plant based world had to offer but it made me sicker than a dog! Anyone been through this and successfully been able to eat plant based again?
