The real estate market in this town is so depressing

I was born and raised here, have a good chunk saved for a down payment but constantly feel like I’m trudging uphill because of this shit

Fightin'

Does anyone know of anyone who was at, or knows anyone who actually saw " The Brawl at Landfall"? The utter obserity of a bunch of beer gutted white guy pussys with matching white shoes and belts attempting to imitate actual men fighting is just fall down funny.

South front street police cordoned off

Does anyone know what’s going on downtown on south end of front street? Whole section of road taped off, EMS, Fire and Police all present with lights on.

Fireworks Last Night

I know someone already posted about it, but I have to say, I’ve been in Wilmington nearly 30 years now, and have been downtown for the fireworks nearly every year. I believe that was the best show I’ve seen the city put on. From my angle I could see both sets (Battleship and across from Live Oak). I hope they continue to do 2 locations every year. After last years debacle with the change of location and all, I think this more than made up for it. Yes the traffic was horrendous and it took us an hour to get home - but that’s all part of the experience. Thank you Wilmington for putting on a great show!!

Wilmington Restaurants

Hey Guys just moved out here with the wife and son to the triad. Wife and I are celebrating our 12 yr wedding anniversary on the 11th. It's our first time in Wilmington that weekend and would like a nice restaurant to enjoy a steak that has a kid's menu as well. Any other places that would be cool to check out?

Any recommendations would be appreciated!

Thank you folks

Interested in trading services as a side hustle...

Where is the best place to post this after I get it fully running?

I am running a little experiment as a dog trainer and am wondering if anyone would be interested. I have been training dogs for more than a decade and have a solid resume to share if necessary. I am interested in seeing if anyone would be interested in trading services. I guess I am bringing back the bartering system, though I will accept cash as well. I know lessons and classes have gotten expensive nowadays, especially with the economy, and I want to offer my knowledge in exchange for whatever service you may have available that roughly equals out. I genuinely love dogs, and training is my absolute passion. I want to help people with any behavioral issues they are struggling with, as well as, connect them to resources that they may need. I know a decent amount of people in the dog community here and even if I can't help out, I can help refer to someone who can.

I heavily enjoy helping to set up puppies for success with genuinely loving obedience and building a foundation for drive for learning. I particularly love helping to set up smooth handling foundations in pups, like grooming, vet visits, and nail trims, etc. But I can help in many other areas as well.

I am posting more so to see if there is an interest in this and see how it lands here and any advice on better places to port that allows for promotion of services. I apologize if this breaks any rules. I have grown up in Wilmington, but do not know how much interest there would be in something like this.

Carolina beach PD doing courageous work here on the 4th busting us for bottle rockets while SC fireworks are setting off just 20 feet away 😂

Nah it was all in good fun. The cop came back and apologized. We were certainly enjoying the illegal fireworks but we were just setting off lil bottle rockets and got the spotlight on us 😂😂. They ended up letting people set their fireworks off which was nice 👍🏼

Disappointed with fireworks

The show only lasted 15 minutes and it was very underwhelming. Other cities have drone shows, flotillas with water sprayers, and jets and helicopter shows. What do we get? A 15 minute underwhelming firework show, and an hour wait in gridlock traffic trying to get home. Thanks

Shoutout WPD

So glad an officer decided to pepper spray an entire city block downtown to stop two dudes from fighting, definitely worth the temporary blindness and hour + of pain. I feel so safe now that I’ve washed out my eyes twice and taken 3 showers.

In all seriousness, do you have to be 40ft away from the target you’re pepper spraying? And is it at all concerning that there are more people downwind of the pepper spray than there were people you were spraying? Seems entirely unnecessary, guy didn’t even once try to break them up first.

Wilson Center tickets sales are scammy

I tried to get two tickets to the Straight No Chaser performance and three different sites were involved and none seemed legitimate. Ticketmaster , supposedly the official ticket agent for Wilson Center wanted to sell me 2 good orchestra tickets , but they were resale tickets with PDF delivery "by" the day of the concert. Why does Cape Fear Community College allow the Wilson Center to used such unscrupulous vendors ? All live ticket sales feel like shakedowns these days.
