Someone activated 2FA on my main account and now I can’t get in
All of the sudden I got an email stating that my 2FA settings have been changed. I previously did not have it activated, and then I got kicked out of my account. I was able to immediately change my account password, however whenever I attempt to login I am asked for a 2FA code from an authentication app, which I never set up myself. The only other option is a backup code, which again I never received.
This all happened right as I was communicating with another redditor to buy a ticket to an event this weekend. The timing is extremely suspicious and I suspect they are the ones that hacked my account so that I couldn’t access our messages. Regardless though I really don’t want to lose my account of 10+ years. I’ve submitted an official request but I’m hoping to get a quicker response through the sub. Please help! 😭
