If every provider is horrendous with nightmare stories, who do I go with for home security?

I really want a home security system. ADT came over and quoted my $3500, then it went down to $2700, then $2100, plus $85 a month for like three years. I about fell out of my chair. We live in a small house, less that 1500 sq ft. I had no idea they were so expensive. I cannot wrap my head around this amount of money. I also cannot find an alternative. We need help putting in our system. We're not going to DIY it. I saw Vivint has a promotion. If all the providers are terrible, what is a person to do?

Saving Cards for My Kid

I know this is such a beginner question but I see so many differing opinions. I'm trying to save some cards for my kid for when he's older. I started using Exact Fit sleeves for common cards and I use regular penny sleeves with Top Loaders for special cards. When building a binder I like the exact fit better. We have so many common cards and I just sleeve as many as I can because he's only 7 and he's rough on the cards. I put the cards in upside down in case he wants some of those playing decks later. I know it's probably overkill but I'm still trying to get used to which cards are valuable or which cards he might like to have some day. Am I protecting these cards the best way if, for SIRs, I use penny sleeves, top loaders and put them in side pocket binders? I read that you don't want to lay binders down but I've been laying these binders down and stacking them. I also put the sleeved commons in this lined box I bought until O can organize them in a binder. Ugh. It's such a rabbit hole!
