PC/Monitor suddenly stopped running 4k?

I have no idea what happened, I was watching youtube and went to grab food. The screen went idle and went black like normal because id been away for too long. When i tried wiggling the mouse and tapping my keys when i got back, the screen wouldn't come back on at all. I have a hdmi cable also plugged into my tv (i dont have a second monitor yet so just use it so I can have Spotify open to the side to change songs while playing games) so i turned my tv on and the desktop popped up on there. However, all my apps (that would usually be on my main monitor) had moved over to my tv which was the first odd thing. I decided to reset, however when I turned it back on, my main monitor could no longer run 4k and looked awful. I went to display settings to change it but the option for 4k had vanished. I made sure my monitor was set to "make this my main display" but still nothing changed. I then unplugged the hdmi cable from the tv, but still no change.

I checked Armoury crate and made sure everything was up to date, then I updated my drivers (as they hadn't been fully update to date when this problem occurred), but still nothing. I changed the port i use on my GPU, unplugged the DP cable (which is the one i use for my monitor) and plugged it back in several times, reset my pc a million times, turned everything off by the plug for 10 minutes, etc.

I then followed a youtube tutorial and went into Nvidia control panel to manually add 4k via the DSR Factors section. I went into Display Settings and set it to 4k, however it looked AWFUL - very blurry and zoomed out.

Ive reinstalled my drivers both from the website and the Nvidia app. (I didnt do this by fully "uninstalling" them, I just clicked "reinstall").

Ive been into the control panel and checked for updates there, but it says everything is up to date.

Ive now plugged my hdmi cable back into my tv....and its now 4k on there instead of my monitor?? Its like their abilities have swapped places lmao. When I click the tv screen in the display settings it even says 4k, but for my monitor it says 1080p?! What do I do? I would be really grateful for some ideas!!! Im fairly new to owning a pc so patience would be appreciated lol
