Trex Ultra 2 VO2 Max and Lactate Threshold
Historically my Amazfit devices have all rated my VO2 max 4 points lower than Garmin. And while Garmin has its faults, the VO2 Max predictor is considered a strength of that platform. Well I took the Trex Ultra 2 out for a spin today, and it changed my VO2 Max to the same as Garmin (41). It also rated my lactate threshold pace to within 1 second of Garmin. It gave me a lower HR for lactate threshold, but the pace is probably more important. So it seems that Amazfit is working on their metrics. I may take it back out for a spin vs. the Polar H10 again to see if their PPG algorithm has gotten any better, but that is going to have to wait until I'm done testing the Mibro GS Explorer.
Just thought you guys might be interested. I'm very curious as to the next gen of Amazfit devices. That said, they're charging like they are Garmin these days. Between the Trex Ultra 2 and the Cheetah 2 Ultra, damn but that is some real cash. Especially for the Cheetah 2 Ultra, that's within $60 of the Garmin Forerunner 970, Garmin's top of the line running watch. Amazfit is going to have to come up with some class beating features to command that price range.
