Customer Service Medicine

What are medicines you prescribe for patient satisfaction bc you have lost the will to live (sarcasm)?

Case: 40M no hx of lung disease presents with URI symptoms x 3 days. Go over negative CXR, clear lung sounds, COVID + swab

Pt asks for an inhaler prescription

I explain why it is not clinically indicated

He accepts the explanation without further fuss

Soon after discharge we get multiple phone calls from family members harassing staff that he didn't get an inhaler

😑

the hills I am willing to die on are sparse and I have grown tired of trying to explain things when really ppl are just looking for quick fixes, it's not worth wasting my time. BUT I'm curious to others approach to these silly expectations. For me, if it has minimal probability of causing harm then fuck it, I'll prescribe anyone tesslon perles, naproxen, Zyrtec, tamiflu, whatever. Considering prescribing primatene inhalers for these non-asthmatics that NEED an inhaler 🤔

ETA: I should clarify, it's not abt stewardship or inhalers, this is spite medicine.

Mind the Gap

What to do with the gap? Recently purchased a home and not sure how to *properly* seal the outdoor outlet when the box is not flush with the wood siding. I can think of a lot of improper ways...

Abridge Question

Does anyone know how (or if) you can complete a note via abridge after pt has been discharged?

ie, you start the ambient recording, press pause/stop but forget to select the "create note", then pt is discharged. Go back into the note to complete it and abridge doesn't auto populate and error message when you try to sign it.

(For those of you that can always keep up with notes at time of discharge with single coverage, God bless you)

What to do with (solid) wood panel walls?

First time purchasing home with wood paneling, it is a mountain home so the vibe makes sense. Just not sure how to refresh the panels. The first and second picture are after light cleaning and oil based wood conditioner. The third picture is a portion of the wall after removing a half wall/divider. The wood is not sealed so it has a rougher texture. Any recommendations for upgrading this look would be appreciated 🖤
