Fiddlesticks Q (Fear) gets canceled by Master Yi Q?

I'm a returning noob player that just got to silver, but I'm currently maining fiddlesticks and I'm wondering why fiddlesticks Q (Fear) gets canceled by so many different abilities? Few games ago I realised if I misstime my fear onto master Yi when he is using Q it just gets canceled and my spell goes on cooldown. Happens with other champions too but I can't remember specifically. Is this intended?

Also funny that when Nocturne uses ult all my abilities fear the enemy team since they are in the dark.

Is fiddle viable as support later on?

Hey, I'm an old season 2 returning player and just getting back into league and I've been trying to figure out what champion I should be maining to get to Silver and I realised I play really good with fiddlesticks support and in the last 18 games I won 16 of them going from bronze 3 to silver 3 in 2 days, I'm on a roll. I realise this might be luck too but I must be doing something right?

I also realise that I am low elo, so I'm wondering how good fiddlesticks is in gold+? right now I have big impact over the games
