The U20 Greco Roman World Championships are currently taking place in Bratislava, Slovakia.

There are many different variations of arm throws that can be used in Greco Roman and many other styles of wrestling and grappling arts. The pivot arm throw is one of my favorite. It is a relatively simple technique that can be tough to master because most athletes are not familiar with the motion and it's a non-traditional version of the move. I think it is a particularly effective technique from the 50-50 position (over/under) when the opponent is taking their hips away from us. This creates more space for our hips to punch through. However, it can also be set up with off-balances to create that same hip space. To see an expert perform this skill much better than I can, watch matches and highlights of Aliaksandr Kikiniou (USA) as he is one of the best ever at this skill.

What this kid did was phenomenal. He won a U17 Greco-Roman World Championship and then a U17 Freestyle World Silver medal at THE SAME EVENT. To my knowledge this is the first time an American has ever made the world finals in the same year, let alone the same event.

He is from Ohio and will be a freshman this upcoming year.

Marcus Blaze bumped from 132lbs to 150lbs his Senior year in high school and won his fourth straight state title.

He finished his high school career with 200 wins, four state titles, a Fargo title, and never gave up a takedown in high school (at any event- state, Ironman, Fargo, etc).
