I’ve recently moved to the NT and I’m looking to get a 4WD up here. My current car isn’t with me, so I’m considering buying a new vehicle. I’m pretty new to 4WDs and mainly want something for camping and fishing trips and light to moderate 4wd, nothing too crazy.

I’ve been looking at a few options like the Suzuki Jimny, Toyota Hilux, and Toyota Prado. The 5-door Jimny is appealing because I could buy it new, and with a lift, bull bar, and roof rack it would come to around $48–50k. The Hilux and Prado would likely need to be second-hand, and prices up here seem pretty steep.
