NIPT at 400 pounds 10 weeks 1 day
I searched Reddit and this thread religiously when trying to decide if it was worth taking NIPT so early at such a high weight of 400 pounds. Of course I found almost nothing. So I thought I’d be the one to make this post for any future lookers. My pregnancy wasn’t planned and I’m not exactly proud that my dream of motherhood came at such a high weight. I was in the middle of my weight loss journey taking GLP1s and doing great. The very first period that I got after a Very lonnng time of no periods came with a surprise a month later...A positive pregnancy test after an ER visit. It’s been a roller coaster of emotions and fear but I’m being watched closely by a high risk OB team and so far so good!
Anyway, my OB recommended I take the NIPT test at 10 weeks 1 day and I was so sure it would come back inconclusive. To my surprise 11days later I got full results and 4% fetal fraction. So like many others have said, it really does vary person to person.
