Title: Double major overlap question: Bus Admin (Paul Merage) + Bus Econ (Social Sciences) at UCI
I’m currently a Business Economics major and currently applying for the Business Administration double major at UCI.

I have already completed all the lower-division prereqs for both majors.

I know there’s a 2 upper-div overlap limit between majors from different schools, and I’m trying to figure out if this plan would work:
- MGMT 109 (Summer 2026) overlapping with ECON 134A
- ECON 147B (Fall 2026) overlapping with MGMT 110

The issue is that I can’t really get into MGMT 110 (Fall 2026) right now because of major restrictions for Bus Admin students.

Has anyone successfully used ECON 147B to satisfy/overlap with MGMT 110 while double majoring in Bus Admin + Bus Econ?

I’m a transfer student at UCI and I’ve just completed my first year here. I’m currently thinking about changing (or adding, if possible) my major (Business Economics) to Business Administration at Merage.

I know it’s a competitive program, so I wanted to ask:
- What GPA is realistically competitive to be considered?
- Does it depend more on overall UC GPA or specific prerequisite courses?
- Has anyone here successfully switched into Business Admin after transferring?

For context, I’ve already completed all of the required prereqs (math, econ, and mgmt courses), but I’m trying to understand how strong my GPA needs to be to have a real chance.
