I'll be in Ragusa and Siracusa June 5-13 and wondering if anyone else would like to meet up? I'd really like to meet some expats there because I'm planning on moving there this year. I'm a young-at-heart older woman traveling alone. I've been to Italy, but not Sicily. I've been studying Italian for the last two months and am so excited to be visiting Sicily (great-grandparents were from there.)! If anyone here is also visiting Sicily and wants to get together, let me know!

I'm planning to move to Sicily this year and would like to ask how did you go about renting an apartment in Sicily when you moved there? Did you use a real estate agent from Idealista or Immobilaire (sp?)? I'm thinking I'd have to stay in a B&B while looking for an apartment in Ragusa. Going there in three weeks for 10 days and would like to find an agent while I'm there. Also, how did you arrange to pick up things that you shipped to Sicily? Did you have to rent an apartment to apply for the residential permit before your things have arrived so you don't have to pay tax on them? Thank you for any advice in helping me figure this out. Any expat group get togethers in the Ragusa area in June? Would love to meet some people! Thank you!
