Planning my first Camino in August 26, choice paralysis between Frances and Coastal Portuges

Hey All,

Am planning my first Camino (and my first international travel) trip in August of this year. I have 3 weeks off and had a loose plan built out that surrounded the Portugal route, but Im reading about the Frances and am now stuck on not wanting to miss out on the variety of landscapes and experience.

I think I'm leaning towards Frances, my main concern is whether or not I'll get enough of an experience on the shorter time frame. Maybe I do Portuguese this year and then Frances another.

The path ive loosely planned is as follows (I had AI helping me here):

Day 1 - 3: Arrive in Porto, explore, shop for supplies before the walk begins.

Day 4: Porto → Vila do Conde

Day 5: Vila do Conde → Esposende

Day 6: Esposende → Viana do Castelo

Day 7: Don't walk - Experience opening day of Romaria d'Agonia

Day 8: Viana → Caminha

Day 9: Caminha → Baiona

Day 10: Baiona → Vigo

Day 11: Vigo → Pontevedra

Day 12: Pontevedra → Caldas de Reis

Day 13: Caldas de Reis → Padrón

Day 14: Padrón → Santiago de Compostela

Day 15 & 16: Santiago de Compostela

Day 17: Fly to Bilbao

Day 18: Check out Aste Nagusia

Day 19: San Sebastian Day Trip

Day 20: Fly back to States

Insight here would be appreciated! There's something that sounds nice about a complete "start to finish" trip that Porto offers. Id love to meet people and get that experience of hanging with other pilgrims but it seems like with only 3 weeks I'll have to pick one way or the other

Have always been a headset person, need advice on swapping to speakers and mic

Hey All, Want to swap to not having a headset on at home as its much more comfortable, but dont want to dive in and buy an avenue of tech I have not kept up with.

Budget: 600 Max ideally, can go a bit over if its REALLY worth it.

Location: USA, Shopping via Amazon is my preference. Can do B&H or some other site if the best options are so exotic they aren't on Amazon or something.

My goals are to have speakers and a dedicated mic, ideally with the following boxes ticked:

  • [Speakers & Mic] High Quality sound capabilities both on output and input.

  • [Speakers] I don't need super high volumes, not trying to blast music or anything. Don't need crazy bass. Want to play games, watch youtube, and hang out in discord.

  • [Mic] Ideally something I don't need to be an exact distance to in order for it to work. If I can avoid a pole arm great, if not then oh well.

  • [Mic] Ideally no pole arm on my desk but if that's the only way then so be it.

  • [Mic] Noise cancellation, unless the best options here are Discord Crisp/Nvidia noise suppression. Basically want to be able to play my games and hear my friends without background audio bleeding into my mic.

Nice to have (Not at all required)

  • [Mic] Physical mute button

  • [Speakers] Sonos integration? I have a few Sonos around the house for when guests are over, so in my mind if I can just have these available as another source of audio why not.

Appreciate any help and insight, have been a headset gamer my entire life.
