ESP32 CYD desk companion/timer/weather display

I made this wall-e style desk companion/timer/weather display using an esp32 cyd i bought from amazon. the code is fairly simple. one screen is the wall-e, the next is a timer, and the third is weather. the wall-e and timer are simply downloaded onto the device while the weather display is connecting to my wifi and pulling data from open weather.

in addition, there is also code written to connect a PIR HC-SR501 sensor. when it senses movement the display turns on after 10 minutes of inactivity on the screen the wall-e goes into a sleep animation and after 15 minutes the display turns off and will turn back on when it senses movement or when you touch it.

i know this is a fairly simple project but it is my first one and i thought i would share! i am currently 3-d printing a case for it. if you have any questions let me know!

View from my flight coming in yesterday

It doesn’t come out as well in the pictures but you can just see all the smoke. It’s sad 😢

Knee pain after NWB for 6+ weeks

As title says I have been NWB for just over 6 weeks and I am aloud to walk again. I am only walking around the house and not walking for lone. My ankle it self doesn’t hurt much but my knee does. I am assuming because I have lost muscle after not using it for a while.

The only other pain I have is from ankle mobility, it hurts if, for example walk down the stairs wrong and it flexes to much.

Just wondering if anyone else has had similar situation

(I am 16 so I am hoping I should be able to rebuild strength and mobility relatively quick🤞)

Backpack for 19 days in Europe

Context: going to Europe for 19 days traveling with my family, we will be going to 3 countries

Bags: Patagonia mini MLC, and peak design tech punch attached to the front

NOTE: I broke my ankle and will be on crutches and a knee scooter in Europe so that’s why some stuff on this list may seem slightly odd

Packing list:
7 t-shirts
6 pairs of shorts
3 pairs of socks
Handful of underwear
2 nice shirts
1 sweatshirt (not pictured)
1 pair of sweat pants (not pictured)
Toiletries
iPad
Kindle
Chargers
Mini fan
Camp snap camera
Goggles (not pictured)
Water proofing for cast (not pictured)
Reusable ice pack (not pictured)

I have been to Europe a couple times I now and feel confident in this packing list that 1) everything I packed I will wear and 2) I feel like I more than enough clothes because I will have access to washer and dryer

As mentioned I will be traveling on a knee scooter and crutches. The mini fan is the be able to dry out my cast at the end of the day because it sweats a lot, and the water proofing stuff and goggles is so I can swim because it’s the only form on cardio I can do.

I also as shown using vacuum sealed bags for my clothes, I packed my bag with and without them and using the definitely saves space

I’m honestly not sure if 1) I wnat to bring the Peak design tech pouch and 2) I don’t what I would exactly put in there but it seems useful. I think?

What are y’all’s thoughts on my setup? Recommendations? Questions? Let me know!

Also I’m sure I will add things because I am not leaving for about 2 weeks

9 days post ORIF surgery for a Closed Tillaux fracture of left tibia and I'm feeling amazing

As said I am 9 days post surgery from a closed Tillaux fracture of left tibia

(if you, like me, have no clue what it this means, on the CT scan it just looked like a chunk of bone broken off from the main bone)

Anyways, the nerve block lasted like 48 hours and I think got me through the worst of the pain and then after the nerve block wore off it just felt slightly uncomfortable (I could kinda feel the pin in their as I shifted my weight while using my crutches)

But now, and for the past couple days it feels completely fine and as if I didn't just have surgery.
All I can feel is the stitches rubbing and moving around in the splint.

I have been helping coach at a sports summer camp this whole week and have been fine!

Just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience!

Anyone have a Smilar surgery?

Context: I am 16 years old and broke my Ankle mountain biking with my brother last Monday, got x-ray and CT scan and all the works, I had surgery yesterday and got 1 screw in which is good because originally they thought they where going to need 2 screws.

I’m wondering if anyone has had a similar surgery and could tell me what the true recovery time was? When did it feel like your ankle was completely back to “normal”?

I’m in a splint right now and should be moved into a boot in the next 2-3 weeks. And will be aloud to with bare 6 weeks post surgery.

Thank you!!
