Hello! Looking to rehome another due to need. The cats insist on eating!

This is one of his earlier releases I believe where he was honing his heart treatment on this steel before moving on to other types.

210mm Kurosaki Megumi - stainless damascus over Vg10 core, purchased @ CKTG ~2015 for ~$325

Sharpening over time has removed about 2mm - however, performance is not harmed and in some ways improved in my opinion. There is still potential to thin it if desired.

Consistent distal taper thins just near the tip.

Most recent sharpening done on belts and stropped on hide by the gent who sharpened the house knives in my work kitchen.

While originally super thin behind the edge, current geometry seems to have reduced tendency to wedge in hard products like squash, pumpkin and sweet potatoes.

Food release is decent on items like potato and zucchini.

Can still slice instead of snap on carrots.

A few slight scratches near the tip on the opposite side from the kanji. A few tiny freckles in the cladding on the kanji side.

Circumstances are pushing me to part with this piece. Purchased direct from TF with back and forth on customization in 2014 for ~360 adjusted. Asking $395 to start OBO including shipping within US - possible additional shipping for outside US. PP G&S.

Has been lightly sharpened 6-7 times on Suehiro 1500, Gesshin 2000, Naniwa 4000 + 8000. 1mm height difference max after correcting a slight grind issue in 2.5" near the heel on the belly.

Shaves at 4k, 8k extra for polish.

Blade height 75mm, length 241.3mm.

Uniquely longer magnolia + blond buffalo handle 6.25"

Balance point is just forward of pinch grip and can be adjusted with new handle.

Saya has some blemishes and a pilot hole for a saya pin but never included a pin.

[Selling] [US] Gesshin-Ginga 210mm Stainless Wa-Petty

Like new, spent most of last 10+ years in a box.

Never sharpened = honed + Stropped with 1k grit diamond paste balsa. Will want touching up for finished edge from next user.

Spot on ferrule at pinch grip where inside of pointer finger rests

One natural knot/blemish on handle = natural character of wood.

Dot ~.5mm on one side needs buffing out.

240mm HD2 with Ebony/khii handle + custom saya, purchased from CKTG 8 years ago for 379 + 40 for saya.

Seen some use in pro kitchens and at home. Well-maintained and cared for. Couple very tiny dots. Has not been finish-sharpened after a few uses. Edge will take a tune-up for splitting hairs but great condition.

240mm B2 Tanaka, custom ebony handle and cherry Saya. (The saya really fits the lines and geometry of the knife. A lot of features on the blade line up with the markings and shapes of the knife, including grind. )

Lightly sharpened, carefully maintained.

The ebony handle balances the weight nicely for a smooth pinch grip.

Sturdy body with significant distal taper in the last 2" for a refined nimble tip.

Has some minor cosmetic scratches from the one time I loaned it to another cook at work and the first thing he did was whip out his honing rod and give it a few whacks before I could snatch it back.

Loves a 4-5k edge, holds the edge nicely.

Otherwise excellent condition. Have not been able to touch up the edge but still shaves hair despite that.

Bought from CKTG in 2018 for $~405.
