Hi all, I am making some heavy decisions here and selling some nice stuff. I bought a lot over the past few weeks, and need to let some stuff go. These are my approximate break even prices, and I got everything from other members unless specifically denoted.

Konosuke Sumiiro Gyuto 210 (BNIB) $445
This is a very cool knife, that unfortunately I never got to using. I’ve bought a lot of knives recently, so I have to let some go. The exact model from Tosho is “KONOSUKE MADEI SUMIIRO GYUTO 210MM BURNT CHESTNUT HANDLE”. I paid a good chunk more than this when duties and shipping were included.

Kagekiyo Gyuto 240 W2 (BNIB) $495 SPF deposit paid
This is one of the Nishida ones, and is a knife that deserves the love it gets. I got this from another member here for this price, but ended up with my Kagekiyo grail. I’d love to keep both, but that’s just not practical.

It’s a cool knife, very tall! Almost a paddle! But I have a few very tall knives like this. I have a wood saya that goes with this if you like, free of charge.

Manaka x Zahocho Bunka 190 B2SS (BNIB) $650 SPF deposit paid
This is a really cool Manaka, the grind is totally sick. I posted it a few weeks ago and then got cold feet. But I need to be reasonable.

I got the knife from a fellow redditor previous. The knife has been used a total of 3 times. Turns out it is not really my jam and I am looking to get my money back. Lightly used, sharpen twice on 1k & 3k Chosera a few small scratches on bevel only getting rid of it to fund another knife, it’s a wonderful blade that I will probably pick again in the future.

I reworked the knife from hollow stock grind to slightly convexed geometry and eased the shinogi. Some holowness still left in the bevels. Spine and choil polished.

Tetsujin K tip 210 gyuto ginsan - I purchased this used and have not used it myself yet. It has some light scratching on one side only, probably from a knife block or magnet? I was able to find a brand new one and have been using that one instead because I like the handle more. SOLD

Takeda bunka - these dont need mucj of an intro. I got this from CKTG early in the year. Ive used it a dozen or so times. I love it, but for my bunka slot I have a heavy workhorse instead. It came with a foil edge on most of the cutting edge. I used nagura stones to sharpen it and strop it. It is starting to show some patina. sold

Shibata boss bunka - purchased from chefs edge earlier in the year. Brand new, never used. Just looked at. I havent wanted to use it since getting a few other knives that fill the same slot. SOLD

Only partial trade I would consider would be a boning/butcher knife by a western maker to replace the sabretooth which is my fav of the 3 - selling reluctantly purely as it’s been a tough financial month and I need the cash (these were not easy to acquire). Realized despite a smattering of knife sales recently I still have 15 Japanese knives and 16 westerns… I can’t get them all off the rack and in use enough and someone will use these a lot more than me.

Yep, I purchased the sabretooth ktipped new as performance preference but full transparency it did have a minor tip incident once and became a touch shorter, too. Have used it plenty since - performer. Have cleaned and trimmed a good of prime ribs, tenderloins etc at work with this, but it’s small and nimble enough to be useful at home too which is primarily where it lived. All purchased new from either overseas knife store/direct from Shibata after 18 month wait list.

These knives are pretty iconic and don’t need much of an introduction or bio, but if you want any more info, pics, or anything at all please holler.

This is a new Tojiro Petty. I removed the new handle and rehandled it with some phenomenal, dyed and stabilized Box Elder Burl.

Alright so I found the next piece to add to the collection and need to move a few of what I have. All preferred sales are via Venmo with free shipping in the US.

$1,900 - Mazaki Hon Sanmai Aogami Super Damascus 240mm Gyuto - Hand Laminated by Mazaki himself. I paid $2000 plus the cost of the handle, and you can’t find another knife like this online. Handle is a 5,000 year old bog oak with a copper spacer. It’s been used three times in total.

$600 - Nigara x Hatsukokoro Yorokobi SLD 240mm Gyuto. I paid $700 plus cost of the handle and used it twice. Handle is a stabilized 5,000 year old bog oak with copper spacers and a copper ferrule with integrated pins preventing separation.

$575 - Ryusen Oukokuryu SG2 210mm Gyuto. Retails for over $800 and has been used once. Absolute laser of a knife with a stabilized poplar handle.

$325 - Custom S-Grind MagnaCut from Olly’s Custom Cutlery. 64 HRC. Handle is a topographic copper style. Used 3-4 times and originally paid $440.
