Sony Dsx m80 output error/cutting out at high volume.
I have the DSX M80 installed on my boat and Im running 4 JL Audio M3-650X-S-Gw speakers. These speakers handle up to 60 watts rms with a 225 peak. Frequency ranges from 55-25,000 Hz with a impedance of 4 ohms. The Sony stereo outputs 45 watts rms x 4 at 4 ohms. They built in amp for the stereo has a max power output of 100 W x 4 at 4 ohms. Just by the numbers it seems like the stereo and the speakers should go hand and hand with no problems. Yet when turned up to 40-45 and above the whole stereo will shut off and all music will cut saying output error. I'm trying to find a work around maybe mess with the equalizer or some different setting in the stereo but I'm unsure where to start. If there's no solution that way should I invest in an amp to produce more power for the speakers? Really at a loss here any ideas?
