Found these growing in the front yard yesterday morning, it’s been really muggy (averaging about 65%) and cloudy outside with temperatures ranging between 70-90 F (20-30 C) for the better part of the month. it only started raining for about at most 36 hours (there was a flood watch in effect for about the last 24 hours and just let up a few hours ago).

These were taken this morning, now that there’s no rain and these sky is clear. The distinct yellow-brown hue and puffy shape makes me think of slime mold but the shape of the fruiting bodies make me think differently. another thing to note is they've shown up before but only if it’s extremely humid (last time was months ago, with humidity bordering 100%). My mother would rip them up and threw them into the current spot and they just disappeared after that.

I live in Southeast Texas, not to far from The gulf coast.
