wibta for not getting mad at my neice for what she texted?
so i have a niece. she's 13, and i love her sm!! we watch anime, love cooking, and shopping. my fiance loves her too. She loves coming over on the weekends and talking with me and doing stuff. i introduced her to Hunter x Hunter once, and loved it. Specifically, Killua Zoldyck.
Last week, my sister asked me 2 pick her up from school because she was busy with work. i got my keys and left. i found her crying on the bench. I helped her up, and got her in the car. she showed me screenshots of her group chat. they were talking about their fav characters. one of them said, "oh i'd goon to Shadow Milk Cookie", and other's chipped in. So, my niece said, "lol. ig i'd goon 2 killua (if he was older". i really didn't care tbh. i'm 21, and go to college and here the weirdest shit. Some girl said, "ew go take a shower, it's 2026", and alot of ppl in the group chat didn't like that. They kicked her and whatever. I asked what that girl did to my niece, and turns out, she confronted her during PE with a bunch of popular kids and started saying how weird my neice was.
my neice said that she felt targeted, and i got it. why only her? and why tease people about it in general?
i told my neice to not care, and we watched Hunter x Hunter for the whole time.
I feel good after doing that, but should i have been stern and told her mother???
AITAH?
