Is it too much to start marketing your first book while you are working on another one?

I am new at this and after months and months of working on my first book, hopefully I will have it officially published in the next couple of months. I’ve worked very hard to make it look like a high quality, traditionally-published book that I feel good about. I’ve had to learn a lot for the first time.

I don’t know anything about marketing and promoting and all that good stuff. I work full-time in something unrelated. I’ve had several other books in my head for a while now that are clamoring to come out. and I’d like to get started on them too.

Is it unrealistic to get going on another one now, before I need to take on the marketing of my first book? I know everybody may have a different view of this and you can market as much or as little as you want. I’m trying to get a sense of things and what more experienced people would advise. I’d rather not wait but I also want to be realistic. Thanks.

Has anyone significantly lowered their cholesterol through diet who is female here?

I see posts here that are very inspiring from people who lowered their LDL and other parts of their lipid profile by making changes in their diet (and sometimes exercise too). But almost every time it’s a male - which is fine, but usually men and women respond very differently when trying to lose weight.

It seems to happen more easily for males. Are there any women here who have been able to significantly lower their cholesterol through diet, and no meds? If so, I’d love to hear what you did.

(Applause and respect for all the men who have done it; I’m just trying to see what has worked for women.)

Any negative reactions to anesthesia if you have LC?

I’m wondering if there’s any research or personal experiences with getting anesthesia for something routine like a colonoscopy or an endoscopy. Is it supposed to be okay to do or does it activate any LC symptoms? Has anybody had experience with these procedures?

I get so bogged down with fatigue if I get even a touch of a sinus thing and it wipes me out for a week or two. So I’m just wondering if they give you something that puts you out for a while if that will activate a fatigue response similarly. (Or anything else)

How do you explain to a friend you can’t meet them in the mornings

I have a friend who tends to be very busy (by choice, she doesn’t work). Often when she wants to get together, she’ll suggest the morning. She knows I go to bed very late. I’ve explained to her that I need to sleep late, that I’m recovering from the work week, that I’m not at my best in the morning, that unless it’s something really important or a special opportunity, I don’t want to meet then and my preference is to meet in the afternoon or evening.

But it seems to fall on deaf ears, and I feel like it’s not seen as a valid reason, like if I wanted to see her, then I would get together with her at 10 AM (which incidentally would mean I’d have to wake up 7:30-7:45 to include travel time).

What do you tell people is the reason that you can’t ever meet in the mornings, if it’s not something like a special occasion or traveling, etc.?

I do have friends who know that I would never get together in the mornings, and they don’t judge it and don’t suggest it, but there are other people who don’t seem to accept it and will still ask to get together then.

Anybody else take a long time to get going?

Anybody else feel it takes them time to get going, even if they have slept very late and had enough sleep?

I feel like it takes my brain 2 to 3 hours after I wake up to really be functional, especially in terms of productivity and motivation. If I have to do things like work, I do it, but I still don’t feel great until later. And on weekends, I feel like I’m a bit in a daze and lethargic …and then a couple hours later, I am more myself and then the later in the day it gets, the more I feel good and alert and energetic. Anyone else?

I’ve been holding off on starting because of all the horror stories on here about the different generic brands and their side effects. I tend to be hypersensitive to medications in general. I know everybody reacts differently to different ones but there is way too much consistency with people having really bad reactions to so many of the generic brands now.

Does anyone know if there’s anything going on to better regulate this? Is there any hope that the generic brands will have to adhere to a higher quality standard or is the original Wellbutrin the only option?
