Crazy find or just average?
I just bought a PS3 Slim for 60$. Cech-2504B, Date Code 0D, 166 days of runtime and ~3000 boot ups. Warranty sticker is still on, console is in real good shape (a few scratches on the sides and one line visible on the front side buttons, but otherwise it is perfect).
I had a PS3 Super Slim up until now, but the HDD is failing, and with the prices we've got going on right now, looking for a console was literally cheaper. I absolutely loved the PS3. Only downside is the few frame drops here and there.
I've looked for a CFW-compatible Cech-25xx console for a really long time because I wanted to overclock it a bit and see what other stuff I can do with it.
I have literally not googled anything about this, how to do it, what to install, etc... On my PS3 Super Slim I only had HEN and webMAN MOD installed, didn't use anything else. And I came here for the first impressions and to ask for my first/initial steps.
I will 100% repaste it this weekend. And I will probably get an SSD too pretty soon, but I'm not sure on that.
So my questions are:
- Was this a really good deal (and how does it compare to the average find)?
- Will the console last me a long time?
- What steps should I take to install CFW and overclock the console?
