On the recommendation of Madonna Yoder, I sought out and purchased bulk Skytone paper to make my tessellations. After a bit of internet searching, I ended up buying my Skytone paper from Glodan (glodan.com), which is based in Pennsylvania, in the US. To find Skytone on the website, click the search/magnifying glass and choose "Mohawk" under the Mill dropdown menu, and "Via Skytone" under the Brand dropdown menu. I bought a total of 600 11x17 sheets, which I will cut down myself using acrylic quilting templates and a rotary cutter. (Glodan says on their website that they can do special cuts, so I inquired if they could cut hexagonal sheets, but they said they couldn't. Oh well.) That plus shipping was about $150. Not cheap, but this will last me a very long time. Glodan ships promptly and they take great care in packing the paper to protect the corners. I've made a few tessellations so far with the paper and I am loving it. A little thicker than I expected, but it holds a crease well, reverses well, and can take a bit of abuse before the fibers fray and holes form. Hope this is helpful for anyone trying to source good tessellation paper!
