I purposely talk in my native language when I am around non speakers of my language
I am very proud of my native language and I speak it especially whenever I’m around monolinguals, which are everywhere here in the US. I like to “show it off” and speak it with my siblings in public even though my siblings like to speak English. This might make me a bit of an AH but I feel a little bit of superiority especially around monolinguals to be able to speak a language besides English. Sorry, I can’t help it. I purposely try to make a scenario where I would use my native tongue in front of them. I like to make rude monolinguals think that I am talking bad about them when I switch to my native language.
