Hi all! I am asking this question for transcription Tuesday but it’s a lot so I am doing my own post this week.

A couple of weeks ago I found an old family bible from 1873 and I have been working to decifer who all is in the book as well as 2 paragraphs. I have been able to figure out most of it, but I would love some help possibly finding the rest. Pictures attached here: https://postimg.cc/gallery/pxFdc82

I believe that this book was first owned by my x5g grandfather Robert Valentine Gearheart LH15-29X who passed it to his eldest child Mary “Polly” Gearheart Mead. Robert raised my x3g grandfather Ned Gearheart and at some point the book was given to him to be passed down my line.

Here is what I have so far:

Bold for the book's text and I added in the FamilyTree ID in {} for those I believe I know.

* for this first page I will go ahead and add the context that there is several “Salley”s. This spelling is not seen in other sources but several women did have a different spelling on sources “Sallie”: Sarah Justice (~1814-1900), Robert's wife {9VRN-HMF} went by Sallie in the 1870 census, as well as their daughter Sarah Gearheart (b. 1857) {L4X6-FW4}. Their Grandson, Ned, had a daughter named Sallie gearheart (~1897-1991) {LWY2-3XH} as well as others further down the line. There are three Salleys on the first page so it could be any, all or none of them, but I believe it’s most likely these three.
