Event to mark a new AUX Coxswain being qualified?

In your area, is it routine to have an event of any sort to mark a new AUX coxswain being qualified?

In my experience, the new coxswain is simply called to the front of the flotilla meeting, their certificate is read out loud, handed to them, presenter and coxswain shake hands, and perhaps a pause for a photo (just like any other common certificate/award).

Do you do more or do it differently?

Several of us are having a discussion about if//how we should make this a bigger deal locally. Given the work to achieve coxswain AND the significant responsibility... we think that more is warranted. Of course the same can be said about auxiliary aviation pilots too.

Thanks for your replies.

Thank you all who replied to my request for an introductory resource about lichens. I offer this as a form of thanks.

I took this photo tonight on the bare soil in my yard in the Rocky Mountains, Colorado, USA. The illumination is 365 nm UV. I don't care what its name is...I offer it simply for your enjoyment (Heck, I am not even certain that it is a lichen!)

INTRODUCTORY LICHEN TEXT IN PLAIN ENGLISH

I have fallen down the rabbit hole of lichens. Unfortunately, every online resource that I find is dense with technical jargon and I am spending an absurd amount of time in a dictionary.

What do you recommend as an introductory textbook for newcomers to this world of lichenology?
