The ancient history of the Unova region with the Original Dragon splitting into Reshiram and Zekrom due to the conflict between truth and ideals is one of my favorites. It adds so much depth to the themes of the games.

I am also fascinated by the Regis and how they connect to ancient civilizations and special unlocking methods across different regions.
