The UK poll showing men have a more favorable view of women than the inverse doesn’t take into consideration men’s observed commentary
I’m talking about this poll.
“Findings show women under 30 are three times as likely to hold a negative view of men compared to the other way around”
It was referenced in this OP last week: “Why do only 30% of young women have a favorable view of men (80% of young men have a favorable view of women)”
There’s no way anyone can chat with an average HS or college bro or review the comments of typical online male commentary and come away with the fact that 80% of men view women favorably unless we have completely different definitions of what favorable means.
These are just examples, but they’re supporting the argument that these aren’t favorable perspectives, sentiments, or perceptions.
Example A: college chica posts how she decorated her dorm. Nothing but unprovoked vitriol from male commenters.
Example B: a post saying RIP for a 14 year old girl who was murdered and chopped up by a male recording artist. Nothing but absolutely vile commentary under the post from male commenters.
These are just online examples. If you talk to people at the store nowadays just as a casual chat you overhear young guys volunteering information about their idols like DJ Akademiks or Clavicular or whatever make streamer du jour. And parroting back or sharing the same degrading sentiments those guys have about women. It kind of reminds me of the cognitive dissonance of rappers growing up claiming they “love femalessss” but every verse and is bitches and hoes and this and that. If that’s “love” keep it lol.
Here’s a post of a guy posting charts about how young women aren’t excited about marriage and motherhood anymore. And he’s quote retweeted by someone saying this: “Turns out being exposed to the inner thoughts of men has women not really interested. 😬”
TLDR: It seems A LOT of boys and men can regard women as lesser and can consistently have degrading or psychotic “edgelord” opinions about them but those same guys will answer a poll and say “I want a wife” or “I want sex with women.” That makes it evident men and women do not have the same baseline nor are working with the same definitions of “positive view .”
